Day 13- Both beauty in nature and man made

The other day we loaded the kids up in the car and headed to check on the progress of the Gilbert temple that is being built fairly close to our home. It has been raining off and on throughout the weekend which I love and still makes it nice and cool and wintery feeling. As we were driving we looked out the window and saw this beautiful rainbow. These pictures do not do justice. I have never seen a brighter rainbow where you can really see each individual color. Not to mention you could see the entire thing from one end following the arch over to the other end. Deke pulled over to the side of the road so we could just sit and look at it for a minute. We were laughing when we started to look around and noticed four other car loads of people pulling off and getting out to take pictures of it with their cameras or cell phones. It was so beautiful and such a sweet reminder of the beauty in Heavenly Father's creations. The Gilbert temple broke ground in the fall of 2010 and is anticipated to be finished by 2013. It was such a wonderful experience to take our family through the Gila Valley temple it will be so special to attend this temple open house as well. It is also very exciting for us since we will soon be in that temple district and will most likely attend that temple now instead of the Mesa temple. Even though all we could really see through the large green fencing were some cranes, equipment and piles of dirt everywhere. It was neat to see the sign announcing the temple. It was neat to later go on the church website and see a picture of what it will look like when it is finished. 81,000 square feet. So beautiful. It will be neat to watch the process of it being built and get to go inside when it is finished. What a wonderful blessing from Heavenly Father for Arizona to be given yet another temple.
