Time with Grandpa

Hunter was so excited when Grandpa McWhorter called and asked if he wanted to go with him and Grandma to the Phoenix Zoo. He was even more excited when he found out that he was getting to go by himself without mom or dad. He had so much fun getting to see the animals and spend time with Grandma and Grandpa. Our kids are really so very blessed when it comes to Grandparents. They have three sets of grandparents that are all very involved in their lives and supportive of them in every way. They also have two great grandma's and a great grandpa that they love and enjoy spending time with. We feel so grateful that our children are receiving this special blessing of having all of that love and support. We are very blessed with a wonderful family.

Havin fun

Well on Friday Deke brought the kids to my work and they were able to play in the gym area with the equipment, and had a blast. Avery was a little unsure at first but quickly warmed up to the idea.

Are you kidding me?

See these children all happily enjoying this parachute, everyone is having a great time, smiling and enjoying themselves. Well we have a parachute like this that we use at work and the other day we had an event on the parachute that could be described as a crash course in bodily fluids. Two little kids were running around on the parachute and smacked face front into each other leading to a split lip. The child that was then already bleeding from the mouth was so traumatized that she lost bladder control all over the parachute and the children sitting around her on the chute. One of the sitting children now covered in urine exclaimed to her mother that she was not feeling well and then proceeded to throw up all over the place. Have you ever had a moment in your life where you stop for a minute and wonder if this could actually be happening? Yeah this was one of those moments. We cleaned up the various messes and attempted to finish the class. After everyone had left I went to go to the bathroom and found that the mother of this little girl had cleaned up her child but left all the remnants of the incident all over the bathroom and hadn't even attempted to clean up after herself. Nice lady. Blood, urine, and vomit all in one place within a matter of seconds? Are you kidding me?

Pancake Morning

Since we have both been working, mornings are always rushed and always a little crazy. The kids were so excited when we decided to make a pancake breakfast in bed for Grandma's birthday this morning. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!!
Hunter promptly requested a Buzz Lightyear shaped pancake and I promptly turned the request into the hands of Deke. The end result became this Buzz Lightyear set of "wings" which made Hunter's day. It was so nice to sit down and actually all enjoy some breakfast together this morning. It made me realize that it is almost October which then means time to make some delicious cocoa ghost pancakes, yum! These are a favorite around the Burch household in the fall.
The kids sure do love their pancakes...ah nothing like a pancake morning.

Uh-Oh

First of all, sorry the video is sideways but I didn't realize it until after I took it and have tried all morning to capture the moment again to no avail. It may be the wrong way but it sure is cute anyways. Well this past couple of weeks Avery has really started developing her little vocabulary. Her latest words include: Grandpa, bubble, ball, and obviously uh-oh. Today as I was getting ready she was sitting in the bathroom repeating it over and over again so I grabbed my camera. It is pretty cute to watch her saying new things. Watch for an upcoming post of Hunter taking his first leap off of a diving board. This whole video thing is fun. Hope everyone is having a great day.

This picture says it all

Well there you have it, this is exactly how every member of this little Burch family feels at this point in time- exhausted. Deke and I are busy working, going to school, trying to find a new house, tie up loose ends in PV, commuting an hour each way to work, dealing with lost glasses and contacts that are the wrong perscription, have family time, oh yeah and somewhere in there sleep. The kids are trying to adjust to not playing outside, having a completely new and constantly changing schedule, not seeing mommy as much, and having all of their stuff in boxes in the garage. On top of all of this of course Avery decides to pick now as the time to start honing in on her walking and climbing skills-yay. Nothing like another good ole life change, someday soon we will get a normal schedule again. Until then I am trying to look at pictures like these and instead of thinking about how wiped out I am, how sweet my now four year old still looks when he sleeps. Sweet little guy.
