The best part of turning 1

Do you want to know what the best part of turning one is:

It's definitely the cupcake, or

maybe it's the presents, or possibly

It's all the love and attention you get from your family!!!!

Avery turns one!

It is hard to believe that our little Missy moo is turning one already! She is such a silly girl these days loving to laugh and play. She still has yet to walk but is crawling all over the place and pulling up onto things. She has a cute little mouthful of teeth unlike her older brother at this age and is starting to try to say all sorts of things. I love when all my babies turn one because of the "eating of the cupcake" it is my favorite part of course. When Hunter turned one he instantly picked it up and started shoving it into his mouth as fast as he could. Avery was cracking us up. She poked at her cupcake for awhile and then finally started to slowly take a bite here and there stopping to smile at us now and again. However once she got a really good taste of the frosting she was hooked and soon it was all over her face. I love this picture of her sitting with her little toes all pointed, can we say future dancer :) At one point she decided to lay down on her belly and just put her face in it which was hilarious. She was also surprisingly willing to offer some to me when I asked her "Can you share with mommy? Can mommy have a bite?" She in fact offered me practically the whole thing :)
It was a fun birthday and it has been neat to reflect back on her first year and smile and the sweet moments that we have had with her. We feel so grateful for the blessing of her and the opportunity that we have to get to be her parents she is so special to us. She is such a silly, sweet little girl who brings us so much joy. We love you so much Missy moo and hope that you enjoyed your cupcake. Happy Birthday Ave. Love Mommy and Daddy.

Quite the little artist

I just had to post this drawing that Hunter made of Deke and I and his stuffed animal puppy Rusty. He was just sitting at his little table doing some coloring and came up to me with this piece of artwork. I was really impressed at how well he is doing in writing "mom" and "dad." It is a work in progress but a three year old I'd say it's pretty good.

Waterslide

So in preparation for Hunter's birthday party we borrowed this waterslide from Doug and Kerri and set it up in our driveway. We spent all afternoon letting the kids slide on it which Hunter loved and Avery enjoyed at points. She was very content to sit at the end of it and splash in the water and was tolerant when we would make her slide down it but a little unsure. They are so cute in their little suits and wet hair. A wonderful afternoon together as a family.

It's coming...

Hunter's fourth birthday is quickly approaching. I am excited for the fun things ahead in the fall such as preschool and soccer but having a hard time letting him grow up. So instead of focusing on how big he is getting I am putting my focus into planning his first "friend party." He really wanted to have a Curious George themed party with water activities and banana splits in place of cake so that is the plan. Here's a couple pictures of the invitations that I made for him, we are both really having fun planning his birthday.

Okay, I don't know exactly what this is but I know you can't have it....

It feels really good if I angle it back into my mouth like so...

Oh yeah I definitely like whatever that was...
What do you mean I can't have another one????

Oh man!!!!

Good luck awaits

7/7/07
Well yesterday it happened, 7/7/07 a "day of good luck" or for us hopefully a sign of wonderful things to come. There are a lot of big but exciting changes happening around our household these days. It is sometimes hard when you have to take a leap of faith in making big decisions and fully put your trust in Heavenly Father. However, I feel that some very neat things are in store for us. I will fill you all in on the details when the time is right, sorry to be so vague. Anyways back to the reason for my post, here's to 2007 a year of good luck to everyone all around!!!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree ?!?!?

Yesterday we enjoyed having our good friends Kerry and Erin come over with their kids to spend the afternoon with us. The kids swam in the back yard in our play pool and we had a yummy BBQ. We visited and let the kids play until fireworks time, then headed out to the driveway with chairs and snacks. It is so neat that we can watch the fireworks from our driveway and not have to fight the crowds and the traffic to see them. We had been discussing how much we loved patriotic music at this time of year and how nice it would be to have some music to go along with the fireworks. When suddenly we hear, "O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree" and we look over and Hunter is watching the fireworks intently and singing his little heart out, oblivious to the fact that we are all listening to him. Wrong season there buddy, but leave it up to Hunter to provide comedic relief and make us all laugh.

Happy 4th Everybody!!!

Burch Cousins

Yesterday we spent the afternoon hanging out with the Burch cousins.

The kids loved playing on Doug and Kerri's giant water slide in the front yard.

We all went to the rodeo but we had to leave early because Avery was giving the babysitter a hard time. It was so fun to watch the kids play together!
