When visiting teaching goes wrong...

Usually when you go to visit not only one of the sister's you visit teach but one of your very good friends, you visit together, your kids play together nicely and you feel good about the day. However, what happens when your visiting becomes so much fun that you slide a little out of "mommy mode" for just a few moments in the area of supervision.

This is the result:
What is that you ask, well just a quart of oil spilled out and then used to play kitchen.
After this little episode Erin and I spent the rest of our visit united in our efforts to clean the mess with Dawn and a hose in hand.
Today's visiting teaching experience left us with two children's outfits that will probably be permanently stained, lots of experience in the event that we ever need to assist in any kind of oil spill, and some memories for us as friends watching our kids develop their sweet little friendship.

Father and sons campout

Well this Friday the boys headed up with the Grant guys to the father/sons campout. They had all kinds of fun playing football, baseball, enjoying a program around the campfire, roasting hot dogs and then marshmellows and just spending time together. Hunter was so excited to get to have some special time with dad. I am so thankful that Deke has a flexible work schedule that allows him to be able to go and spend this time with Hunter. They really have a neat relationship that melts my heart when I watch them together.

Entertaining your three year old

If you want to know a good way to keep your three year old entertained for about fourty-five minutes to an hour this is the trick:* A bucket (filled about halfway with water of course)
* An old rag
* An empty 409 bottle filled with water
* A towel
* A bike, or scooter, or in this case a four wheeler to wash
Then let them go to town washing~ instant entertainment for them and for you.
