Gators

Time again to bust out the cleats and shin guards, soccer season is here. Gone are the days of the Firebolts his first time and now we are the Green Gators. This year none of the boys go to his school and they are from all over gilbert and mesa which is fun to meet new friends. This year Hunter plays in U10 which includes boys ranging in age from 8-10. This is a pretty big range considering he is barely eight and his whole team is eight year olds besides two of them that are nine. They have played a couple of teams where several of the boys are getting ready to turn ten and there is a significant difference in size and skill. However it doesn't matter they are playing really well and have won two of their four games so far. Hunter seems to really have a knack for left and right wing forward. Two weeks ago they played a team that included a kid from our ward that was in Hunter's scout troop. I love this picture of the two of them being put on the same position and "facing off."Some shots of the cuties on the sideline.Standing by big brother, way to go number 5!!!!Both Grandpa and Grandma Burch and Grandma and Grandpa McWhorter have been able to come to the games which has been awesome. The gators stretching out before their game starts.Hunter and dad who also is assistant coaching this year. Hunter's skills have gotten much stronger this year. He seems to understand better how to get open for his teammates, how to pass, and has better control over the ball. His aggressiveness has improved but it is still something he is working on. He is really fast though and can dart up and down the field and knows how to get in a good spot to recieve a pass and puss it up the field. I love watching him it is so exciting to sit and cheer him on.
