Bones

We love making fun Halloween dinners and snacks and mostly desserts during the month of October. Every year we have our favorite traditional foods that we always have but we also try new ones as well. This year Hunter saw a picture for bread bones. So we decided to try some. Thank you to Pillsbury who made this project nice and simple so that all we really had to do was pop open the can and shape them into bone shapes. The kids got pretty creative making neck bones, ribs, spines, Deke made a wishbone, Hunter made a couple of bones including joints. Then we sprinkled some with parmesan and some with garlic salt. I love the heavily sprinkled areas pictured below that the kids assisted with. One of Ave's seriously had a salt crust layer on the top when it came out of the oven. I told them to remember which ones were theirs so they could make sure to try their own. ha ha ha. They turned out great and tasted yummy. We ate them alongside some homemade chili. Hunter enthusiastically suggested that next year we try to make all the bones in an actual human skeleton and then put them into the shape of a skeleton. Of course he would. :):)
