The girls colored and did word puzzles at the table while they waited for dinner. They served pulled pork sandwiches with all sorts of potato and pasta salads.
After dinner and visiting, the train began to make its stops, first at Bethlehem. They recounted Christ's birth and also included some musical numbers. The primary kids all in their pj's sang a few songs as well.
Then one of Santa's elves came out and read out loud as they showed the Polar Express story on a giant projector screen.
Soon Santa appeared, ready to visit with all the kids. They each got to sit on his lap and talk with him then received a couple candy canes and a bell reminding them to BELIEVE. Avery waited in line with Emma and when it was almost their turn I looked up and saw Ave bending down and telling Emma not to be scared it was Santa and to go and tell him about the my little pony stuff she wished for for Christmas. It was such a sweet big sister thing to do. Avery is so loving and watches over Em so well. She really is such a great big sister.
