Crackin' his first crab

Deke has been working really hard trying to help manage a new stores grand opening down in Tempe.  Not far from where he is working there is a Joe's Crab Shack.  We LOVE shrimp and crab and so the other night we decided to take the whole family out to dinner.  Deke got his favorite steampot with different varieties of crab, corn, potatoes and sausage.  Hunter kept telling us that he wanted to try crab.  So we let him order the kids portion steampot with snow crab.
He was so excited when they brought out the bibs and tools to crack the crab legs with.  Deke showed him the different things and explained to him how to use them.  While we waited for the food the servers would randomly come out and music would come on and they would do a line dance.  One of the waitresses asked the kids if they would like to come up and dance.  Of course Hunter jumped right up at the chance and soon had the dance down and was boogieing down with all of them.  I hurried and took a video with my phone it is really cute and the table next to us clapped for him when he was done :)
When they brought his steampot he was more than thrilled about it.  I wondered if he was going to enjoy it for a minute and then get tired of doing the work and want Deke and I to do it.

Deke carefully demonstrated how to crack open the legs and dig the meat out.  Within a few minutes he was on his way.  He was having fun and did an awesome job with it.  The whole meal he only needed help a few times and pretty much did the whole thing on his own.

He killed the whole pot and kept telling us how good it was, how much fun it was, that he loved crab and we should go there more.

It was fun to watch him and have all the kids get to experience something that they haven't eaten before.  I am always so thankful to so far not have any picky eaters.  I love that they will try new things and are always good about cleaning their plates.  Nothing like a fun Friday night out with the fam.
