Ring in 2012

To ring in the new year we had the Grant's come down for a visit which always means a lot of fun. They came and spent the weekend with us and we had a blast. Saturday morning Deke continued perfecting his pancake making skills by trying out some new shapes. How do you like a profile of George Washington?or a my jellyfish and flower?over to the park we headed later that afternoon to get out some energy....A little game of baseball....Then we brought out the parachute which is Emma's personal favorite... Back inside for a couple of rounds of our newly invented family game, marshmellow catapult. Fun and yummy to play. A couple people man the catapult on one end of the house and shoot the marshmellows. The others stand across the house mouths open and without hands try to catch the oncoming treats in their mouths. The kids love this game. The Grant's brought down their popcorn maker which everyone was quite intrigued with. The kids enjoyed their own party with treats and games out in the playhouse. The moms and dads enjoyed staying inside and staying up way too late playing games.
After cheering in the New Year together and the adults finally crashing at 4am everyone attempted to sleep a little. Soon enough though everyone was up and the kids were busy once again.Avery pretended to paint Emma's finger and toenails during lunchtime which made me smile. We had so much fun. 2011 was such a wonderful year. It may be my favorite year so far, so many fun things, blessings and just joy and more joy. I can't wait to see what great things 2012 has in store. Maybe one of these perhaps?? Who knows we'll see :) :) Kerry and Erin we love you guys and your family you are the best.
