Carving um up

Every year carving pumpkins with the kids gets more fun.  Now Hunter and Avery can clean out, design and carve their pumpkins completely on their own.  This year Em scooped out about half of her seeds on her own.  She was almost done when she said, "Mom look! My pumpkin is growing a baby pumpkin inside of it, it's pregnant!!!" Everyone laughed so hard.  "Oh it's so cute, I love my mommy pumpkin.  Avery have you ever had a pregnant one?" she asked her.  It was hilarious.
I love to watch the kids draw out their designs and do their own carving.  Every year Avery gets so serious about the whole thing.  If you watch her carve she doesn't talk a lot and gets really intense with it which is funny since it is completely opposite of how silly and carefree Ave usually is.
Hudson of course being all boy was game on for the mess that can be scraping out the seeds.  He sat on the table and scraped for awhile, then we put him in the high chair with the pumpkin lid and he sat and picked the seeds off one by one.  Atta boy dude.

Hunter loves Minecraft, so this year he did a design that included a minecraft creeper.  He did a great job.
Avery wanted to go with a classic jack o lantern face on front and carved the words trick or treat on the back which was no easy task and she did great.   Emma wanted Tinkerbell so mom did her best to carve one out with a template and then dad drilled some holes for "pixie dust."
Love seeing them sitting in front of the house at nighttime all lit up.
