Refrigerator pickles

We made our first refrigerator pickles the other day.  The ingredients were cheap and the process was super easy.  I loved the fact that the kids could help with all the steps.  Hunter washed and cut the cucumbers into spears, the girls helped wash and cut the dill and then all three kids stuffed jars.
The only part that they couldn't help with was pouring the brine into the jars.  After two days in the fridge they were ready to taste.  It is always amazing to me how much better fresh/homemade stuff is.  They tasted good and I am excited to try some other recipes as well, maybe something including peppercorn?
