Finding baskets

After a freezing, very uncomfortable night sleeping in the tent on an air mattress that had slowly deflated throughout the night, the kids were up around 6 o'clock sure that they had seen the bunny's shadow.  Having hardly slept but knowing they would not fall back to sleep, Deke and I had them lay quietly for about another half hour.  Soon they were making up all kinds of reasons to go out and look around so we got up and went in to wake up the little two that had opted to sleep inside with Grandma (good call you two).  Usually at home the bunny hides the baskets out in the yard but this year probably due to the rainy/chilly weather up there they were hidden inside the house.  Hudson spotted his quickly and started dumping everything out to check it out.
Mom and dad were excited to see that this year Hunter had to work a little to find his basket, it was hidden well.
Avery could've cared less about the food inside of the basket, she saw the loom bands and was ready to get started on some new bracelets.
In total Emma fashion she took her time and slowly checked everything out and then organized it.  Then she went around and gave everyone a stamp on their hand with her new My Little Pony stamps.
Hunter got some new colors of paracord to make some more survival bracelets....
Pretty sure that the older three ate their weight in jellybeans before breakfast was made.  Easter is so funny, Deke and I totally have different ideas of what is good easter candy.  I like the Reese's pieces carrots and speckled chocolate eggs.  Deke wants Peeps and starburst jellybeans, both of which I think are over sugared and gross.  So the kids end up getting both.  Watching them eat the jellybeans or chow down on a peep grosses me out.  Just like eating straight up sugar.
Hudson got a tube filled with jungle animals that he immediately wanted out to play with.  He is big on learning and making animal sounds right now.  He likes to make elephant and monkey sounds the most.  He lined all the animals up and then set a goldfish in front of each one as if he was feeding them.

We all enjoyed a nice breakfast together and then headed back down to the valley.  Grandma had to head back home and unfortunately I spent the rest of the day in bed with a high fever and ended up getting diagnosed with strep throat and an inner ear infection the next day.  Deke and the kids played and hid eggs for each other around the house all afternoon while I slept the entire day away feeling miserable.  It was a long day but we had had a great weekend together and it was so fun to watch the kids outside playing together in the grass.  Happy Easter!!
