Halloween night

I believe this is our first time trick or treating somewhere that is actually really chilly on Halloween night.  It was fun and made it feel more like fall.  I could not believe the kids were all still raring to go after an entire day of walking at the zoo, especially Em.  However, it was as if the cool air invigorated them and they ran more than walked up to each house to knock and collect their goods.
Hudson would look around wide eyed and then see them come running from a house and starting giggling and kicking his legs as if they were going to come and tickle him and then point after them as they breezed right past us and down to the next house.  He found the whole thing quite entertaining.  The kids had such a fun time together talking and making each other laugh as they walked around.  They all looked so cute.
They each scored some King sized candy bars this year which was a first and filled their buckets to the brim.  Pretty soon the running slowed to walking and Em was more dragging than carrying her bucket.  They had all been so good, had so much fun and ran so hard all day.
As we buckled everyone in to drive back I had already given instructions to the kids about the rules of the candy and to wait to eat it.  The kids started laughing hysterically saying "look mom!!!" I looked down and saw that apparently the penguin felt that these rules didn't apply to him and he had started to try to eat a snickers bar.  Who cares if it is wrapped and he only has two teeth that aren't even fully up yet.  Obviously he wasn't worried about it.  We got back and dumped all the candy out and let the kids do their trading and I may have sneaked a couple candies for my little feathered friend :) :)  Happy Halloween!!!!
