Hubby's birthday.

This year for Deke's birthday we had a whole bunch of fun things planned for the week.  One thing I wanted to do was take him out to eat somewhere we had never been before.  He likes watching the food network and watches a show called Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.  I had been talking to some of the moms at playgroup and they had mentioned this place called Joe's Farm Grill. The guy that hosts that show had done a show in Arizona and the restaurant had been on the show.  The ladies all were telling me that it had really good food and was a fun place to go.  This would be perfect.  We didn't tell Deke where we were going and when we got there and he knew that this was one of the restaurants off of the show he was excited.
We got there and ordered up.  I ordered the Carolina dog which was topped with sweet pulled pork and coleslaw.  It was yummy but the best part of my meal was the sweet potato fries that came with a pineapple and serrano chile dipping sauce.  So so good.

The boys chose a hot dog that was first wrapped in bacon, then loaded up with beans, sour cream and then topped with jalapeno peppers.  They both loved it, it was right up their alley and Hunter can handle spice like Deke can.  On the side Deke had an order of onion rings that had been dipped in a rosemary breading that was so so good.  Probably the best onion rings I have ever had.

The girls stuck with some corn dogs and pizza.  We ate and talked it was really nice.  Then we walked around to check out the area the restaurant sits on since the AZ weather is gorgeous right now.

Hunter headed to use the bathroom and was in there forever.  Deke went to make sure he was okay and came back with Hunter grinning.  "Mom, there is a TV in the bathroom!!!"  Oh geez.  Instantly the other two had to go to the bathroom right then.  So I took the girls in to go potty while the chattered away about how cool it was to go to the bathroom and watch TV.  Avery told me that she was definitely going to have this kind of bathroom in her house.  Emma liked that they had barbie dolls in cases up on the bathroom walls.

It is always fun to try somewhere different.  When we got home we checked online and there are ten different restaurants that triple D has been to in AZ and featured on their show.  A few are in Flagstaff but we decided it would be fun to try to get to some of the other ones that are down here in the valley.  The kids made Deke some really sweet cards, did all kinds of cute things for him.  We did little celebrations all week long.  Happy birthday babe, I love you!!
