Halloween afternoon we headed over to the kids school for the schools annual Halloween costume parade and the kids classroom parties. Ave's teacher Ms. Harris had the kids reach in and touch different "body parts" in bowls that were covered. She told them to touch the brain, eyeballs, fingers, heart and intestines. The kids reached under the tablecloth into the bowls and squealed with a mixture of disgust and absolute delight. The boys of course wanted to keep touching them over and over again. The girls would hurry and go wipe off their hands. Avery of course would touch one thing and then hurry over to wash her hands then go back and reach into a new bowl and then once again head to the sink to rinse off. It was cracking us up. The kids LOVED this and it reminded me of the first time I had done and activity like this. They were all excited to see that the body parts were actually a head of cauliflower, peeled grapes, baby carrots, wet cooked spaghetti and a peeled tomato.
Avery was so excited to have Emma come to her classroom. She kept picking her up and putting her on her lap. Showing her everything at her desk and in her room. Introducing her little sister to all of her friends at her table. Emma loved the special sister treatment. These two have such a sweet bond, they love each other so much. There is just nothing like the relationship of having a sister.
Avery coming around the edge of the playground during the costume parade. She was such a cute Belle.
Hunter parading around as Batman.....
After Ave's classroom we stopped by Hunter's room and spent some time in his class party. He also gave Emma celebrity like treatment. Having paper and crayons ready for her to get to color and his desk and supplying her with a generous plate of treats and goodies from his classroom stash.
Ave chatting it up with her girlfriends at her table...
Ms. Harris put bat shaped marshmellows into a jar and each kid got a purple sticky note to guess how many were in the jar. Both the kids parties were a lot of fun, their teachers did a great job planning really fun games and there was definitely no lack of sugar and fun Halloween snacks for everyone.
