Putting up the tree from three weeks ago oh yeah and a little bit of Thanksgiving..

Well about three weeks ago Dave and Nalene came over and we decided to put up our Christmas tree. The kids we so cute and we let them have free rein of the decorating which meant that there were two giant groups of ornaments on the tree, one about Hunter's height and one about Avery's height. Avery pulled out a snowman ornament and said "look mommy," I told her that it was a snowman and she excitedly said, "look Grandma a coldman." No matter how many times we try to get her to say it correctly she still says coldman, it is really funny. It has been so nice to have the tree up so long so that we can enjoy it. My only regret is that we bought a foot pad that you can step on to turn the tree lights on and off and well lets just say it took about two seconds for the kids to figure out how to use it. Yeah thats been fun.

Well it's only a little over a week before Christmas and I'm finally getting a few pics of Thanksgiving posted.

All I want for Christmas is a new computer.

We enjoyed a great Thanksgiving with the Burch side of the family. Nalene cooked a wonderful dinner and we all ate too much and then relaxed for the rest of the day. Hunter loved playing with the cousins and Avery and Brecken played really cute together. We are excited to be spending Christmas out in San Diego with my mom all week next week.

Upcoming posts include:
* Avery's accident with her dresser

* Hunter's woodchip fettish

* Christmas

* Pictures of the new house

Bumblebee and Snow White

Well of course there was no question as to what Hunter would choose as far as a Halloween costume went. The big question was whether to be Optimus Prime or Bumblebee. We went around to all the stores and Target had the best quality for the best price. Deke and I loved the Optimus costume but bug was sold on the Bumblebee one so Bumblebee it would be. Of course he was in true Transformer character, he would lift the mask as we walked from house to house and then "transform" with full sound effects as he approached each door. He loved trick or treating and especially loved the house we went to that had a man disguised as a ninja perched on his roof. One of the funniest parts of the night was when Deke walked Hunter up to a house that had a strobe light on. I think the strobing threw off his depth perception because Hunter walked up and ran straight into the front door, smack right with his face.Deke and I tried to hide our laughter since he was so serious about it, he gets very into character. I was so excited when we decided to have Avery be Snow White because it was so fitting for her with her dark hair.
She was so sweet, at first she was a little apprehensive but then once she got the hang of it she loved it. She would follow Hunter up to the door and then say "treeeat" and once they put it in her bag she would run back to us yelling "I got some daddy, I got some." We went trick or treating around the neighborhoods for two hours and she walked the whole time in that dress and flip flops. She refused to let us carry her or help her carry her bag that by the end of the night she was practically dragging behind her. It was so sweet to watch the kids we all really enjoyed it this year.

Getting ready for Halloween

One of my favorite things about Halloween is all the fun the kids and I have making Halloween related dinners and treats. The picture above is Hunter's favorite thing to make... Boo Bugs. His favorite part is getting to decorate them by squeezing the ketchup and mustard through a syringe. He also loves making the "web" out of ketchup and ranch dressing. We have a tradition that every year we make "ghost pancakes" for the kids with different scary faces. They are so easy to make and the kids get such a kick out of them.
This year we made a really cute Frankstein pizza...

This is Hunter's monster pizza :)

It was soooo funny to watch the kids with their pumpkins this year. My favorite part is taking out the seeds and I thought that this year Avery would get a kick out of it. No way! She absolutely refused to put her hand in and touch the seeds. When we put her hand in the pumpkin to have her try this is what happened....

When we finally convinced her that she was fine, she would reach in and grab some seeds, then ask for a towel to wipe off her hands. This continued the whole time we cleaned out the pumpkin, oh boy what a girly girl.

We let Hunter design and carve his own pumpkin this year which he was more than ecstatic about. He did a great job for only being five I was so proud of him he is so cute :)

And here were the end results we all had so much fun. I'll have to put up pictures of them in their costumes later they were so cute.

"Look Daddy Ponies"

Well even though her hair is thick, Avery's hair is taking its dear sweet time growing long. I was so excited this weekend to be able to finally get it into some pony tails. She looks really sweet in them so of course I had to get some shots of them. The only thing I don't like is that it really makes her look like a two year old now. I can't wait to go and get some little ribbons to put in them it will look so cute. She knows she looks cute to and kept going up to Deke and saying, "look daddy ponies," it was cracking us up. Thank goodness for the change in the weather the kids are finally able to play outside for more than ten minutes which they are loving. They love to chase each other around the front yard. Well Hunter loves to chase Avery that is.We also finally found a new house which we will be moving into on the 14th which we are excited for. I am so behind on my blogging it is not even funny, one of these days I will hopefully get caught up on it, we will see :) New computer one of these days then I will be back to getting to blog on a regular basis, I sure do miss it.
